Ughh this is so heartbreaking! I feel like the detail that was skipped over in my (previously) very headline-news level of knowledge on this issue was that it was primarily migrant kids. And of course America doesn't value them like we do our white children. I wish I had better / more ideas for how to live ethically. We buy eggs locally when we can but our entire food system is so incredibly messed up and unethical, it feels impossible to scrape the surface of doing any good...

Yep I understand that. It’s very difficult to do things differently in our system we’ve erected (and I believe it’s that way on purpose!).
I’ll prob try to write a follow to this with some ideas. But a good place to start is any local farmer’s market! :)
