the Empathy List #49: Bored to Death
I'll take boring over a pandemic impeachment nightmare any day.
Hey friend, Liz here.
I haven’t heard a peep from former President Trump this week since the House of Representatives dumped him. Dare I say we’re returning to boring in 2021???
Not quite. I can feel dread lingering as Americans continue to reckon with 2020’s shifting sand. I realize we have more drama coming in the form of the impeachment sequel. And there are those worrying coronavirus mutations to consider.
That said, when I turned on a news podcast Monday morning and the first story wasn’t about the U.S. of A., I felt more relief than I can put into words. And that’s worth celebrating—for today, I can take a deep breath, hold it in my longs, and exhale, and know that our neighborhood won’t imminently be hit by nuclear warheads.
…At least, I hope not. ;-)
Thanks for reading, friend!
Warmly, Liz Charlotte Grant
