Hey friend, Liz here.
If money were no object and you could plan a trip to anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
I would pick a stay at a farm, smack in the middle of the harvest in September. I can imagine myself hanging from a hammock in an apple orchard, or reaching into blackberry bushes to withdraw squishy handfuls of berries (which I would eat on the spot), or collecting eggs straight from the roost, or rocking on a porch while listening to the wind rush through a field of corn.
I understand that most people would not find a farm relaxing. (Um, the smell? I can hear my relatives saying). An I certainly would NOT turn down a Caribbean beach vacation with pitchers of piña colada mix. ;-)
But that just goes to show that each of us has different dreams, different loves, different hopes for our future—which is actually a beautiful thing, at least most of the time. (…Differences are also politically fraught).
This week, I’m wander lusting. Read these recommendations with an eye toward that next trip you’ll take whenever this coronavirus is finally vanquished. (Sigh.)
